This year’s Red Carpet Gala is headlined by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honoree Darlene Love, who provided background vocals for the Rolling Stones for 30 years. She also performed with The Righteous Brothers, Dionne Warwick, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and many more. The Gala begins at 6 pm and the concert at 8 pm at the Clermont Performing Arts Center. The annual Clermont Music Festival is a time for cancer patients, survivors, families and the community to come together for “A Celebration of Hope.” Bring lawn chairs and blankets and spend the day in beautiful Waterfront Park enjoying some of the area’s most talented musicians from noon until 10 pm. Bike Florida has selected Clermont as the location for its third Share the Road Celebration of Cycling because, as the organization says, “Clermont already gets it.” This three-day forum at the Clermont City Center will host biking advocates, elected officials, and transportation planners from around the state for discussions on issues crucial to bike-ped safety in Florida. Key officials on hand include District 1 Secretary for the Florida Department of Transportation Billy Hattaway and Florida Senate President Andy Gardiner.
